My Sweet Child
You have been walking through shadows lately, haven’t you? I see you there, in the moments when the certainty you once carried has become a weight instead of wings. You are questioning things you were told never to question. You are seeing cracks in foundations you were promised were eternal.
I want you to know something: I am not afraid of your questions.
The voices around you may grow sharp when you wonder aloud. They may speak of danger, of slippery slopes, of faith that crumbles at the first breath of doubt. But I am here to tell you that what you are experiencing is not the death of faith—it is its birth. What you thought was a fortress was only a shell you found that felt safe in times of confusion, and you are finally growing too large for it.
You have begun to notice, haven’t you, how some of what you were taught sounds less like love and more like fear? How certain traditions feel more like chains than celebrations? How the way you were told to see others—to categorize them, to judge them, to keep them at arm’s length—sits uneasily in your chest now, like a stone you can no longer swallow?
This discomfort is not your enemy. It is my voice, calling you deeper.
I never asked you to build walls. I never asked you to make my love small enough to fit inside your certainties. The divine does not live in the rigid places, in the systems that demand conformity and call it righteousness. The divine lives in the breaking open, in the moment when you realize that what you thought was everything was only the beginning.
You are learning to see people as I see them—not as categories or problems to solve, but as whole, complex, beautiful beings worthy of dignity simply because they exist. That love does not require sameness. That my image is reflected in infinite variety, not in a single mold.
This is not rebellion. This is remembering.
There will be those who tell you that you are losing your way. They will point to the boundaries you are crossing and call them sacred. They will confuse their comfort with my truth. But I am not contained by their lines. I never was.
You may feel alone in this. You may feel as though you are leaving something behind, and in a way, you are. You are leaving behind the small gods, the ones made of human fear and cultural habit. You are leaving behind the version of faith that needed you to be smaller, quieter, more compliant. You are leaving behind the teachings that dressed themselves in my name but bore no resemblance to my heart.
You’ve known for many years that these teachings were smaller than me, but you sought comfort and ease. Grow now. Finally you bloom as I intended you to.
And what you are walking toward—even though you cannot yet see it clearly—is me. The real me. Not the one they constructed for you, but the one who has been waiting all along for you to come home.
You do not need to have all the answers. You do not need to replace one certainty with another. What you need is to keep walking, to keep asking, to keep letting your heart grow large enough to hold the complexity of the world I made. Trust the discomfort. Trust the questions. Trust the quiet voice inside you that says, “This cannot be right,” when you encounter cruelty dressed as conviction.
I am with you in the unraveling. I am with you in the doubt. I am with you in the slow, painful work of separating what is truly sacred from what was only ever human preference wrapped in holy language.
You are not falling away from me. You are falling toward me.
And I am here, arms open, ready to catch you.
